About Surfside Beach, SC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Nicknamed “The Family Beach,” Surfside Beach is a small town found in Horry County. It is a popular tourist destination and is only home to about 3,800 year-round residents. Previously called Roach’s Beach, this community was incorporated in 1964 after rebuilding due to damage from Hurricane Hazel in 1954. Surfside Beach is located about nine miles down the coast from Myrtle Beach, and it is about 150 miles from South Carolina’s capital city of Columbia.

If you are visiting Surfside Beach, you’ll be delighted by the wide variety of things to see or do in this small community. In addition to the beach and the numerous water activities available here, the Wild Water and Wheels Waterpark is a great place to spend a day with the family. When the weather is cloudy or cool, many people enjoy spending some time checking out the unique shopping destinations in the area, including Hudson’s Surfside Flea Market, the Eternal Wave Surf Shop, Old Time Pottery, and the Beach Beads and Glass Studio. Other destinations for a night out include The Grand Theatre and the Celebration Music Theatre.

Whether you live in Surfside Beach, are planning a vacation, or are just passing through, you’ll need to be prepared for the hot and humid weather conditions you’ll experience here. The summer months offer temperatures that reach well into the 90s, and while you can certainly cool off with a number of water activities in the area, you’ll need a central air conditioning unit at home or in your hotel to stay comfortable.

The humidity of Surfside Beach tends to die down during the winter, and the season is quite comfortable. High temperatures average in the low 60s, although overnight lows can fall below freezing. Due to these varied weather conditions throughout the day, you’ll want to invest in a heat pump or furnace, and an energy efficient option can help to keep your winter utility bills affordable.
